Contact Sheet and Picture Package plug-in update for Macintosh 2002-09-16

The Contact Sheet II command in Adobe® Photoshop® 7 can automatically create and place a series of thumbnail previews on a page, and the Picture Package command can place multiple copies of a source image on a page. Both commands rely on a plug-in called ContactSheetII. The version of the plug-in that shipped with Photoshop 7.0 contains a flaw that can cause Photoshop 7 to stop responding if either command is used with a layout directory that contains certain non-image files. This updated plug-in corrects the problem.

Ignore EXIF Color Space utilities for Windows 2002-08-29

When opening images from digital cameras, Adobe® Photoshop® 7.0.1 reads the ICC color profile and EXIF metadata supplied by the camera to determine which color space it should use to interpret each image. Certain digital cameras do not embed ICC profiles and always specify the sRGB color space in the EXIF data, even though they allow the photographer to use different spaces. As a result, Photoshop behaves as if each image is tagged with an sRGB ICC profile.

Running the utility called Ignore EXIF Color Space will instruct Photoshop 7.0.1 to ignore the color space specified in EXIF metadata. In this mode, Photoshop 7.0.1 will present a dialog box when opening images and will ask which profile it should assign to each image. Photoshop will continue to ignore the EXIF color space setting in files unless Respect EXIF Color Space is run to restore the normal behavior of Photoshop 7.0.1.

Mac OS X Keyboard Shortcut Fix for Macintosh 2002-08-28

Beginning with Mac OS X v.10.2 (Jaguar), Apple has reserved the keyboard shortcut Command+~ (Tilde) to cycle through an application's open document windows. This change conflicts with the behavior of the shortcut in Adobe® Photoshop® 7.x (selecting the image composite in the Channels palette or selecting the master channel in the Levels and Curves dialog boxes). To restore the behavior of Command+~ in Photoshop 7.x running in Mac OS X v.10.2, place this plug-in in the Adobe Photoshop Only:Extensions folder within the Adobe Photoshop 7 Plug-Ins folder.

Photoshop 7.0 Scripting plug-in v.1.0.2a for Macintosh 2002-07-31

Automate repetitive tasks and key workflows in Adobe® Photoshop® 7.0 using rich scripting support. Write scripts using JavaScript or AppleScript.

Version 1.0.2a fixes the following issues:
• The "Batch Convert" AppleScript has been updated.
• The Art Layer object's "text item" property has been renamed "text object" to avoid conflicts with the "text item" class that is part of the built-in AppleScript terminology. Existing scripts will continue to run without change.
• When an error occurs while executing JavaScript, the entire error message is now returned to the user.
• If a JavaScript held references to layers or channels in multiple open documents, these references could get corrupted.
• The installer would fail if installing on Mac OS X and no Classic environment was found.
• In some cases, a script created by the ScriptingListener would fail to execute.
• Resizing documents did not work if resampling was set to none.
• Resizing documents did not work if the height or width of the new document was specified using pixels and if the resize command also specified a new document resolution.
• The "AddTimeStamp.js" JavaScript that is installed in the Scripts folder used the wrong property to set the location of the text.
• In AppleScript, when getting a value as a specific unit type, a unit-value rather than a number was returned.
• Adjusting a layer using the mix channels adjustment type would fail if an integer value was used in the output channels list.

Photoshop 7.0 Scripting plug-in v.1.0.2a for Windows 2002-07-31

Automate repetitive tasks and key workflows in Adobe® Photoshop® 7.0 using rich scripting support. Write scripts using JavaScript or Microsoft Visual Basic.

Version 1.0.2a fixes the following issues:

• The ScriptingSupport installer has been updated to work with Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1.
• The ScriptingSupport plug-in has been updated to work on Windows 98.
• When an error occurs while executing JavaScript, the entire error message is now returned to the user.
• If a JavaScript or Visual Basic script held references to layers or channels in multiple open documents, these references could get corrupted.
• If you tried to install the ScriptingSupport plug-in on a Windows system that did not have Photoshop 7.0 installed, the installer would display an error message stating that insufficient disk space was available.
